Fur Free Retailer defines fur-free as the practice of not selling or promoting “any products that contain real animal fur.” On the other hand, clothing companies that use real fur in their products will use hunted animals, or animals raised in captivity for their fur.
Does Canada Goose still use coyote fur?
Canada Goose is an outdoor clothing company founded sixty years ago in Toronto, Canada. While they’ve been working to improve their sustainability efforts in their manufacturing practices, they’ve been using fur, down, and leather in their products - all of which come from animals.
Here’s the good news: Canada Goose made a big announcement that has our team at v-dog buzzing!

A fur-free future!
Canada Goose will end the purchase of all fur in 2021 and STOP all fur manufacturing by 2022! This is a large step in the right direction for the coyote population.
We still encourage Canada Goose to take it a step further and cease the use of leather in their gloves and down feathers from ducks and geese in their jackets.
That said, their recent announcement is a big win for coyotes.
