How v-dog started

Our story

Our late founder Dave envisioned a world where his two rescue dogs could thrive without harming other animals. In 2005, his dream became a reality, and v-dog was born.

V-dog is the first vegan dog company in the United States and remains a family-owned vegan business today.

FAQs about v-dog

Who is v-dog?

We're a totally different kind of dog food company! Since 2005, v-dog has seen dogs of all shapes and sizes thrive on our nutritionally complete plant-based kibble. We are a family-owned vegan business dedicated to making products that are better for your pooch and the planet. Hooray for healthy, cruelty-free dog food! Our all-vegan team is made up of the most dedicated animal lovers, most of us with fur babies of our own. We work each day to ensure that you and your dogs are happy and that our products are providing them with the ultimate source of nutrition.

Is v-dog completely vegan?

Yes! We're 100% plant-based and fully committed to a vegan lifestyle. Our team shares this dedication and is passionate about protecting the environment and ending animal cruelty. We work with partners to attain plastic-negative certification and source ingredients from ethical farms as part of our mission.

Is v-dog making any new products? How can I make a suggestion?

The v-dog team is constantly exploring new ideas for 100% plant-based products, and we welcome your feedback and customer impressions about delicious (and functional) healthy treats. Please email us at support@v-dog.com with your suggestions.

What type of packaging does v-dog use?

We use plastic because it's durable, cost-effective, and lightweight, ensuring product quality, longer shelf life, and reduced carbon emissions during transportation compared to glass or metal. However, we're aware of plastic's negative impact on the environment and health. That's why we're taking action! We remove twice as much plastic from nature as used in our products. Our Plastic Negative certification helps us address the plastic waste crisis while working on long-term sustainability goals.

Does v-dog offer any discounts or coupons?

Absolutely! We have occasional flash sales, so be sure to sign up to our newsletter for updates on new products and promotions. Plus, you'll enjoy a one-time 10% discount on single orders and an additional 10% off your first subscription order (20% off your first subscription in total). Our best ongoing deal is the "Subscribe and Save" option. When you subscribe, your pet's food and treats will be delivered to your door at your chosen interval (with free shipping for orders over $50). You'll save 10% on every subscription order and gain access to special deals.

Why isn't v-dog cheaper than other brands?

V-dog is actually less expensive per pound compared to many other plant-based kibbles. We sustainably source only the highest quality vegan ingredients for our nutritionally complete formulas (kind kibble and happy harvest), but our ultimate goal is to make sure we never adversely impact the quality of our products (and the ethics of our mission-based company) while creating an affordable kibble and soft food that's accessible to the most people. Many companies that use animal products in their formulation are only able to lower their costs by sourcing low-quality (and inhumane) meat that comes from already dead, dying, or diseased animals (which no omnivorous human would ever even touch). Saving animals and protecting the planet is incredibly important to our team of vegans, and we make every effort to pass any savings we recoup in our production process on to our customers.
