Feeding instructions
Every dog is unique, so their appetites can vary depending on their age, lifestyle, and activity level. This is only a guide, after all - no one knows your pooch better than you!
We recommend 2 daily feedings. If your dog prefers, you can add a little water to soften the kibble. Be sure to always have a clean bowl of water available.

10 - 20 lbs = 1 - 1 1/2 cup
20 - 30 lbs = 1 1/2 - 2 cup
30 - 40 lbs = 2 - 2 1/2 cup

Transition Instructions

Yes! V-dog kind kibble was formulated by canine nutritionists and experienced veterinarians to meet all AAFCO standards. Our complete and balanced vegan kibble includes powerful superfood ingredients, added taurine, plant-based DHA, and essential omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.
How many cups of kibble are in a bag?
Our 24LB bag of kind kibble contains approximately 90 cups of food.
Can dogs thrive on a plant-based diet?
Absolutely! Thanks to ten thousand years of evolution alongside humankind, dogs are now physiologically omnivores. Our products are 100% plant-based and we have seen tens of thousands of pups thrive on them over the past 16 years.
How many calories are in a cup?
Our regular-sized kibble is 346 kcal/cup, and our mini bites kibble is 363 kcal/cup. (kcal = Calories.) The two sizes are the same formula, but the mini bites pack a little more densely into a cup.
How big are the kibble pieces?
Our regular size kibble is approximately ½” in diameter.
What are cases?
Cases contain multiples of the same product at a significant discount. For example, your kibble case for large dogs would contain 2 x 24 LB bags, and your case of mini breath bones would contain 12 single bags of mini breath bones.
What's the benefit of ordering a case?
Ordering a little more saves us a little on shipping, so we simply pass along those saving to our customers. So if you're ordering for more than one dog or you're planning ahead, you can save 5% (or 15% with a subscription) on a kibble case of 24LB bags, more than 25% (or more than 35% with a subscription) on a mini bites case of 4.5LB bags, and 10% (or 20% with a subscription) on cases of various treats.
Can I add cases to my subscription?
Absolutely. In fact, when you add cases to your subscription, you get an additional discount. If your case of kibble is 5% off and you add it to your 10% off subscription, you're really getting 15% off along with free shipping to your door.

I've been feeding my 3 dogs V-dog Kind Kibble for many years and we are all very happy with it! They also love their Kind Jerky and breath bone treats.
So glad we stayed the course and successfully made the transition to V-dog with our little dog! I'd left a 4 star review before - one star off because the transition period suggested on the bag turned out to be much too fast for our guy who has some digestive issues. So we backed off and then proceeded VERY slowly, adding one teaspoon of the new food and taking away a teaspoon of his old. We took about a month to transition completely. He absolutely loves this food (I also mix in a bit of the wet canned V-dog food along with some warm water for "gravy". We started with the mini kibble but then bought the regular size which is much smaller than I thought it would be and is just fine for our small dog. As a vegan household we are so THRILLED to now have a vegan dog!!
I'm vegan so I tried with the idea of feeding my dogs vegan food. Some are so prohibitively expensive it was impossible. I had a couple of dogs with a variety of allergies, so thought I might try this and see if they could tolerate it. Three of the four with allergies seem to do great on it. Their itching is greatly reduced, and I'm really happy with it. There's still one dog that is allergic to mixed tocopherals that cannot eat this food.
V-Dog is in my opinion the very best & most complete vegan dog food anywhere. We started in 2015 with our mature German shepherd Missy who lived until 2023 way beyond our expectations and brought us many years of joy. And we have 2 adopted large breed dogs who are also eating it, they love it!

My dogs (both chihuahua mixes were carrying an extra 5-8 pounds each which is a lot for a small dog. We were on prescription food for a while and it did nothing to reduce their weight even though we were following portion guidelines. We switched to v-dog kibble, soft food and treat and within 1 year the dogs are at preferred weights according to our vet. She said it was amazing that a simple change to vegan food would act so quickly. They have a lot more energy and love their food. Thanks v-dog
